JESUS PLEADS OUR CAUSE

On Friday August 28th, our texts revealed the healing story of the one who pleads our cause, Jesus. “Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise.” (Psalm 119:154) A woman is healed by touching Jesus. He looks for the person who touched Him. As we know, this person was a woman whose bleeding had made her an untouchable. So she reached out in fear and in shame to touch the hem of our Lord’s garment. Since Sunday the 23rd, the texts for each day reflect how God is for us, praying for us and pleading our cause.

These images from “The Chosen” help us understand the compassion of God who came to the world to rescue us and to be with us until He brings us back with Him to our eternal home.

Each of us needs to know ourselves as one who is precious in the eyes of our Lord. In our podcasts, this what the Shepherd’s Voice helps us hear.

We need to keep hearing the voice of our Good Shepherd speaking over us. This is the word that truly satisfies us at our deepest level. Our response is joy as the woman reveals.

We cannot imagine the shame for all the years that her disease afflicted her. But we do know that it is the purpose of Jesus to rescue the lost and declare to each of us our true identity as a child of God. In “The Chosen,” Jesus declares to her that she is a daughter of Abraham.

Our Forgivin Livin ministry exists to help each of to hear again who we are in Christ. We have had guilt, shame, fears, doubts, but when the hand of Jesus touches us through His word spoken by one of us, then we are free. What held us captive is taken away by the Shepherd’s Voice.

PLEADING FOR UKRAINE YOUTH…SPECIAL CAMP SEPTEMBER 13-18

Pastor Ivan Lemak and his wife Eugenia serve a church in Sumy, Ukraine. They listen to our podcast daily. We have supported them in prayers since the war began. This photo was taken of them with two of the youth who went to this camp last year. As you know, we have been pleading their cause with our Lord for strength to continue the mission they are fulfilling on the front line.

Last year they also had a youth camp to the Carpathian Mountains for a group of young people. GUG friends sent $4400 to the church to help with their costs. Here is a photo of those young people and their leaders from a year ago.

This year there are new young adults who need this experience of love and direction for this time in the mountains.

Here is Pastor Ivan’s letter asking us for help. We have received generous donations for their need. What a tremendous response you’ve made. Whatever is given will be sent to the church. They also need our prayers. Pray! Pastor Ivan wants to see real life change.

Gospel of Hope: "Outside of the Box" Youth Camp for 45 Teenagers in Ukraine 🕊⛰️

As you know, our city in Ukraine is currently facing intensified attacks and daily shelling. Many young families are forced to leave, and the children who stay live under constant stress, fear, and sirens. We realize that "a better time" may not just happen by itself, and these kids need support right now.

From September 13 to 18, our church, "Christ for All," Sumy, is organizing a transformative youth camp in the quiet and safe region of Zakarpattia (Carpathian Mountains), themed "Outside of the Box."

Who is this camp for? In cooperation with our local city administration, we have invited a new group of teenagers who deeply need emotional and spiritual relief. Together with our team of youth leaders and volunteers, the group total is 45 people.

Our Mission: To share the Gospel of Hope with these teens and provide a holistic environment for recovery:

·🌿Emotionally: Step out of the "box" of anxiety, war-related trauma, and constant pressure.

·📖Spiritually: Discover living faith, find inner strength, and get answers to tough life questions.

·🏔️Physically: Rest in the peaceful mountains, sleep in safety, and recharge.

📋Our Key Needs (Total for 45 people):

1.Transportation & Logistics: Covering travel expenses (train/bus tickets) for the kids and leaders to the mountains and back.

2.Music & Technical Equipment: To lead daily worship, evening reflections, and group sessions, we need to acquire:

·3 vocal microphones (with cables);

·An acoustic-electric guitar (with a pickup).

3.Program & Art Therapy Supplies: Materials for interactive team-building and creative activities.
