Knowing Who Our Shepherd Says We Are (Psalm 23: 2 3; 1 Peter 2:25)

Yesterday we were encouraged to pray as we listened to the podcast. Today we continue the simple prayer pattern of praying the scripture that we are reflecting on today. What does it mean to us that our Shepherd restores our soul? How do we let God bring us back into a relationship with Him when we are going astray? Today as we pray during or after the podcast use the time to let our Lord enter into the soul of our being to restore us to the life we were saved by grace to live.

Old Testament Verse

He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
Psalm 23:2-3

New Testament Verse

You were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.
1 Peter 2:25

Prayer

Guardian of my soul, in you I trust, even though today I feel tossed about as on choppy waters. My fears and resentments quickly lead me astray. As you guided the Magi by a star, shepherd me by your Spirit to the still waters of your presence. Refreshed by you, empower me as I serve in your kingdom. Amen.
