The art of mission is to bring the presence of Christ to people, through word and deed, into situations and environments where Christ is not being named, so that people may know and trust in the loving kindness and steadfast love of God in Jesus Christ. Pictured above on the left is Jeff and Mim’s son, Jonathan, who is inviting his community to explore the topic of homelessness within their neighborhoods through conversation and a ZINE (a self-published, original work of appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced by a copy machine and compiled into physical prints for limited distribution to evoke reflection and discussion).
Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, so that you may live.
Deuteronomy 16:20
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Matthew 5:6
Righteous God, thank you for blessing me, especially when I feel so empty. Forgive my feeble efforts to bring justice to such an unjust world. Bless me that I may be a blessing. Fill and flow through me that I may be an instrument of your peace, justice, and life. In your blessed name I pray, Amen.
