Old Testament Verse

Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence.
1 Kings 19:11-12

New Testament Verse

Jesus said to Nicodemus: "Do not be astonished that I said to you, 'You must be born from above.' The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes."
John 3:7-8

Prayer

Father, your voice comes as a gentle whisper in silence. Your spirit cannot be touched, seen, or explained. However, I believe it because Jesus said so in his word. Thank you, Lord, for my birth from above in water and the Holy Spirit in baptism. Keep me firm in this faith that is a gift from you. Amen.
