Pastor David and Elisabeth Serner share their calling that led them to serve a Danish Lutheran Church in Jerusalem. They share their story of the path that led them to this ministry. They also help us understand the challenges of being parents there. In addition David is the co-author of a book on Messianic Jews in Israel. These believers have carried a vital role during the war. A second part of the interview will be posted next week as it relates to a new seminary that is being founded in Jerusalem.
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46:7
As Jesus went ashore, he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.
Mark 6:34
Compassionate Lord, I still need you to be my shepherd. Thank you for knowing all your sheep. You call me by name in the midst of the crowd. Forgive me when I don't want to be with others or to be their refuge. Create in me your compassion to make time for others today. Amen.
