This is the view of Mount Carmel in Alexandria as seen from the heavens. This place was named for the beautiful mountain in Israel that overlooks the Mediterranean. It comes from the Hebrew word that means “vineyard of God” or “garden of God”. One of the reasons the name was chosen was because of the beauty of this site overlooking Lake Carlos. The name reveals the Hebrew connection between God and nature. The second reason this name was chosen is because of the battle that took place on this site between Elijah and the priests of Baal (1 Kings 18). Christians bring their friends to this Mount Carmel to free them from the Baal battles of our culture today. Discover more at www.MountCarmelMinistries.com.
God said, "I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth."
Genesis 9:13
By the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved.
2 Peter 3:7
Lord, you are the maker and keeper of my covenant. Thank you for your bow in the sky that assures me you are still my God. Forgive me for breaking the covenant so often. Help me to convey someone's true beauty, which only you can reveal. Keep me alert Lord, to speak your promises into my world. Amen.
