God promises water in desolate places. But more than this Jesus promises that rivers of living water shall flow from desolate people. We are the Lord’s plan for providing refreshing water throughout the world. The Holy Spirit makes each of us a river of grace for a thirsty world. We flow from God wherever our Lord wants us to go. Flow freely as rivers of forgiveness! (John 7:37-39).
I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.
Isaiah 43:20
Jesus said to the woman, "Those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life."
John 4:14
Thank you, Jesus, for your promise of beautiful, important water. Today I'm thirsty for your presence. Life in you is green and flourishing, yet often I am dry and parched. Then, into my desert life, your living water springs. It's a geyser of grace! Today let me share a cup of your living water. So many are thirsty. Amen.
