God calls us to be rescuers (Hosea 11:8-9; John 12:47)
My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender. I will not execute my fierce anger; for I am God and no mortal, the Holy One in your midst.

Jesus said, "I came not to judge the world, but to save the world."
John 12:47
Gracious God, we deserve your anger but instead you give us your divine mercy and maternal love. As you reveal to us the depth of your compassion, we are overwhelmed by our own unworthiness. Forgive us and may we come to embrace the true gift of humility. Amen.
