. David and Cynthia help us understand how our God creates life out of the smallest seeds to produce the largest harvest. They show us how our God loves gardens. The Bible begins in a garden and ends in a garden. Jesus says, “my Father is the gardener (vinedresser).” The Robinsons also love to garden. These images come from their gardens or from places near their home. Their love for sharing in God’s creation of life is often expressed in their podcasts. Today they give a rich expression to this revelation that we have in our God who loves creation. Think of all the ways Jesus relates to the image of seeds and gardens of flowers and fragrance of bread and life. Consider how Jesus sows His seed of righteousness into our lives so that we may blossom and bear fruit in many new and wonderful ways. As you enjoy this season’s fresh fruit think of how the world gets to enjoy the fresh fruit that you provide to bless it in every season. Send us your photos of your gardens to joso@groundupgrace.com. We will post them for all of us to enjoy.
For as the earth brings forth its shoots and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the LORD God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.
Isaiah 61:11
The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.
Luke 13:18-19
I praise you, God, for the majesty of your creation. You have made everything just so, with room enough for everything and everyone. Forgive me for excluding others; it's not for me to say which birds get to nest in your branches. Let your gospel take deep root in my heart and your love branch out through me. Amen.
