(Theta) Way Of The Cross (Isaiah 2:11; 1 Cor 1:27 29)

When Jesus says “I am the way” he is revealing how contrary God’s way is from the world’s way. The world always rewards those who achieve. Many religions do the same. But Christ shows He is God by giving hope, help and a future to those who have nothing. All who are in Christ know that we are here by divine appointment. God chose us. To the world we appear foolish, weak, low, despised, and things that are not. But to God we are His chosen ones. So when you know that you can’t boast about anything the world counts high, remember you have a God who became lowly to pick you to part of His family. Trust God’s decision to choose you for all the reasons the world rejects you. This is God’s will for you. And remember it is exactly what happened to God when He was on the cross the world rejected Him. Jesus is a reject from the world’s point-of-view but God gives us eyes to see all things from heaven’s view point.

Old Testament Verse

The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low, and the pride of everyone shall be humbled; and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.
Isaiah 2:11

New Testament Verse

God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.
1 Corinthians 1:27-29

Prayer

Holy and righteous God, your love turns my world upside down. While I cling to your promise to raise me up when I am down, I thank you for bringing me down when I am haughty. Help me to live humbly. Not knowing how others are struggling, today I will make a point of bringing encouragement to everyone. Amen.
