IRISHCAST Mercy over mockery (Proverbs 17:5; Matt 5:7)
Those who mock the poor insult their Maker; those who are glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 17:5
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Matthew 5:7
Loving God, I am grateful for your mercy when I least deserve it. I regret my tendency to insult others and find satisfaction in their calamity, if only in my thoughts. I am so sorry that I fail to give others the same mercy that you show me. Cleanse my thinking. Help me build up others with mercy and love. Amen.
