Many of us have confessed our sins in worship using the words, “we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed.” Notice the contrast between us and God. His thoughts toward us and His deeds toward us are wondrous. Our thoughts and deeds toward God are not. Why? We can’t help but see everything to our advantage and will. That’s what it means to be a slave to sin. It’s always about us even in our understanding of God. As you consider your way of being toward God and God’s way of being toward you, what kind of help do you need from the One who created your eyes, your mind, your whole being? Just simply pray, HELP ME! And you will SEE.
You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you.
Psalm 40:5
And he stood up and immediately took the mat and went out before all of them, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
Mark 2:12
My Lord, you have done and continue to do so many wonderful things. Your love has no limit. Your power is beyond imagination. Empower me to stand firm in my faith. Inspire me to get up from my mat and share the good news. I want everyone to be amazed and glorify your name. Amen.
