Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me.

The tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner!"

Merciful God, thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for your gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank you that you are always with me, always present, always merciful. Keep me ever mindful of the amazing gift of your salvation. I am yours. Fill me with your peace and joy today. Amen.
