This LENT we are providing a daily (Monday-Saturday) journaling opportunity. We know that journaling deepens our “Daily Texts” practice. Perhaps you know someone with whom you can share your responses. JOURNALING Day 11 March 18 1. What is one trouble that you have experienced where you discovered how your Lord was your strength? 2. What motivates you to put your trust in your God? How does this give you peace? 3. Paul writes to the believers in Philippians 4:7 that the “peace of God which surpasses all our understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” You can see how similar this promise is to the verse for today. How has God guarded you when you have trusted Him?
O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble.
Jeremiah 16:19
I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard the deposit I have entrusted to him.
2 Timothy 1:12
God, my refuge and fortress, your presence surrounds me. When troubles are overwhelming, I regret that I often fall into old habits of worries and fear. Forgive me, Lord. You gifted me with life- body, mind, and spirit. I am convinced that you will also protect that life to the end. I can trust you forever. Alleluia! Amen.
