This LENT we are providing a daily (Monday-Saturday) journaling opportunity. Journaling Day 27 April 5 1.What does sober judgment mean? (You might have fun with a Thesaurus as you look up these words’ meanings, synonyms and antonyms — what it is and is not). 2.Can you trust your own evaluation or appraisal of yourself? Why or why not? 3.What are some other things that are true of you simply because you have been made a Child of God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ? 4.How might you live today in the light the knowledge of your true self in Christ?
The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low; he also exalts.
1 Samuel 2:7
I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
Romans 12:3
Sovereign Lord, you are powerful over great and small. You are the creator and judge of everything. I am sorry for my pride and self importance. Open my eyes to consider the needs of the weaker ones around me. As I am humbled, lift me into those works that you would have me accomplish today. Amen.
