Kindness versus evil (Zechariah 8:17; ; Eph 4:32)
Do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate, says the Lord.
Zechariah 8:17
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32
True God, often I don't love the kindness you command. Instead, I concoct lies that serve my desire to belong and believe in my chosen identity. But in you is truth, and that's what I need. Your forgiveness clears my past and gives new life. Help me gather the love given me today in Jesus—and then give it away. Amen.
