You shall not oppress a resident alien; you know the heart of an alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
Exodus 23:9
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you?" And the king will answer them, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me."
Matthew 25:37-38, 40
God of welcome, thank you for arms that embrace and assure us that we belong to you. Deliver us from a vision that categorizes, excludes, minimizes, and marginalizes the strangers among us. Remind us that when we practice and live out your radical hospitality to strangers, we are welcoming you. Amen.
