The Cross and Christ’s Crown serve even those whose crowns are connected to earthly kingdoms. Today King Hezekiah and King Herod’s official both receive healing from God. They both asked for help and God gave them what they needed. Healing happened. God tells us to call upon Him in our time of need. Healing comes from our God, Jesus, to both leaders and leppers. He makes no distinctions. His Crown of thorns and His cross are for all. We are told to call upon Him in our time of trouble no matter who you are or what you have done. God answers sinners. Yesterday we learned that our eyes need to be on God alone when we are in doubt or in any kind of need. Look to Jesus. These leaders looked to Him. Their crowns did not keep them from asking for help. Do you need help? Get your crown out of your way and ask. You need to look to Him now!
Thus said the Lord, "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; indeed, I will heal you."
2 Kings 20:5
The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my little boy dies." Jesus said to him, "Go; your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way. As he was going down, his slaves met him and told him that his child was alive.
John 4:49-51
Like Hezekiah of old, I call upon you, O God, not only for myself but for those I love. Help my hearing and empower my praying. You have promised to heal and increase my faith. I am ready, Lord, to take the next step into becoming well and whole. Amen.
