Jeff and Mim discus the Love of the Father in the Prodigal Son Story (cf. Luke 15). We are enamored with the Father who “sees from afar” and is “watching and waiting” for his son. The Father God, full of love and compassion, sees his children even when his children do not see Him. Such is the extravagant love of God. We marvel that Christ humbled himself, as the obedient son, and suffered shame for our sake so that we might be welcomed by the Father. The greatest mission field is our children. Let us run to them with Christ’s love.
May the good LORD pardon all who set their hearts to seek God.
2 Chronicles 30:18-19
So he set off and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran and put his arms around him and kissed him.
Luke 15:20
Compassionate Father, your forgiveness is boundless. When I run away, you await my return with pure love and joy. You see me before I see you welcoming me home. Instead of punishing me, you throw a party! May I have the grace to accept your judgment of full pardon and extend it to all my fellow sinners and saints. Amen.
