Greenhouse partners join David Blackstad to discuss how these verses reveal the necessity of having God the Father prune us. Kiera from Trinity, Draken from Canada LBI and Steven from Awaken Project are in three different Greenhouse ministries. They were all at Mount Carmel this past week. They joined together to talk about these texts that force us to take an uncomfortable look at ourselves. But when the word of God cuts us, it is for our good so that we might be more fruitful. Read page 190 in your “Daily Texts” to understand how the Triune God is working even in your life to cut away anything that keeps you from being more fruitful. Oh yes, and welcome…you also are a part of God’s greenhouse!
But to the wicked God says, "What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips? For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you."
Psalm 50:16-17
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven."
Matthew 7:21
Heavenly Father, too often I recite empty words and I ignore your word. I honor you with my lips, but my heart is far from you. Forgive my wicked ways. Renew my heart and mind. Put your words in my mouth. Use me to speak your word and offer your transformation to someone needing your help. Amen.
