(Mission Cast) The Mind Set On The Flesh Creates Death (Deuteronomy 5:21; Gal 5:16,17) (Repentance)

Jeff and Mim discuss the concept of DESIRE. The unredeemed human heart is by nature corrupted and sinful and is SELF-oriented (not GOD-oriented). The heart is full of all kinds of desires: lust, greed, envy, pride, wrath, and sloth. For a complete list refer to Galatians 5:19-21. The Apostle Paul tells us that “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:25). And the life we live in freedom from guilt and condemnation, we live by the Spirit. James teaches us that “Each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.” (James 1:14). We talk a little about our desire to be faithful grandparents to our grandchildren.

Prayer

Lord, you know the real estate of my mind. I am divided between listening to you and listing my desires. Plug my ears to the siren song of MINE-"More Is Never Enough." Tune my heart to the sound of your Spirit. Let your still, small voice remind me that I am still your choice! Amen.
