Today, Jeff and Mim, explore with friends, (Shaua, Regina, Barbara) how waiting upon the Lord is not doing nothing, but doing the right things while trusting God’s timing and goodness. Missionally, we ask, knock, and seek on behalf of the needs of others. ASK — regular and specific intercession for neighbors, friends, and family by name (ideally), trusting that God hears and delights in prayer. SEEK — intentional learning and listening to understand our neighbor’s stories, burdens and hopes. KNOCK — Taking concrete, specific steps of presence through visits, shared meals, service projects that truly open the doors of hearts to welcome the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first thing we can do is forgive Jeff for worrying about saying the wrong date for today’s podcast. You are forgiven Jeff!
You are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.
Psalm 25:5
Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
Matthew 7:7
I like to worry, God, but you ask me to wonder. I like to sit, God, but you search out mysteries for me to ponder. I like certainties, God, but you knock on my slumber. Tear down my fortress of faith, God. Push me out the front door so I can once again be a pilgrim-eager, expectant, and open. Amen.
