The cover image for “Daily Texts 2026” comes from Herrnhut, Germany, the home of the “Daily Texts” and the place where the Moravian Church began. August 13, 1727 is a special day in the history of this church since an outpouring of the Holy Spirit happened during a special service of Holy Communion. The result of this revival was a willingness to love others with the love that they had received from God. This love shaped their ministry around the world for the next 100 years. What you don’t know is what is behind this revival. You will hear some of it described in today’s podcast. But you can read about it online under the Moravian revival of 1727 or in the Revival Library.
God's truth shall be your shield and buckler.
Psalm 91:4 NKJV
Those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.
John 3:21
God of all truth, thank you for setting me free from the narrow limits of my own understanding. Overcome my terror in the face of your mind-blowing mysteries. Help me to rejoice in the thrill of this wild journey into unbounded life. In Christ all my fears are groundless. Alleluia! Amen.

The path for revival has to begin on our knees as we ask God and our neighbors to forgive us.
Very interesting comments about problems in Herrnhut and how the Lord used that moment for revival. We are seeing this more and more in our churches, I'm afraid, and we must endure in the Lord and be receptive to revival in our times. Bless the Lord!
