Old Testament Verse

I said, "I have toiled in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with the Lord, and my reward with my God."
Isaiah 49:4 NASB1995

New Testament Verse

Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.
James 5:7

Prayer

Faithful God, encourage me by the spirit of Christ to rest in your creative power. Give me the patience of a wise farmer to trust in you to grant life in abundance. Help me to surrender my need to manipulate growth. Raise me up through Christ to abide in his love and to serve with his purpose and fullness. Amen.
