The great artist Rembrandt painted Paul in prison writing to the churches he loved and had served. But his ministry for Jesus got him jailed many times. Wherever Paul went he got into hot water. As a pastor, wherever I went I was served hot coffee. Jesus said we would get into trouble if we follow Him. So expect troubles to come upon you. And remember this is not your battle, it’s the Lord’s.
If I say, "I will not mention him or speak any more in his name," then within me there is something like a burning fire.
Jeremiah 20:9
Pray for us as well, that God will open to us a door for the word, that we may declare the mystery of Christ, for which I am in prison, so that I may reveal it clearly, as I should.
Colossians 4:3-4
Thank you, Lord, for being with me even in the most difficult circumstances. There are times I feel imprisoned by sin and sorrow. Set your fire alight in my heart again today. Open opportunities for me to proclaim your freeing love. Give me the faith and courage to walk through the doors you place in my path. Amen.
