Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods. Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental principles? How can you want to be enslaved to them again?

Prayer

Lord of life, I rejoice that you have freed me from serving lifeless, false gods and their empty promises-thank you! I regret the times I have strayed from you and returned to those old attachments that cannot truly satisfy. I know better but sometimes I fail. Forgive me, Lord, and help me influence others to turn toward you. Amen.
