What RULES us when our expectations are not met? Standing in line is a big part of travel. We stood in line for over 3 hours on Saturday. Getting on the boat. Going through the checkin process. Standing in lines on the island of Patmos where John had his vision that led to his writing the book of Revelation. What do we discover in ourselves when this happens? How do we let Jesus rule in the midst of our disappointments? We all know how deeply we need the grace of God to fill us when we are standing in line on empty! May Jesus fill you with His grace again now so that this power rules you.
Gideon said to them, "I will not rule over you, and my son will not rule over you; the LORD will rule over you."
Judges 8:23
Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"
John 20:28
Dearest Lord, I am grateful that you have given me the desire to choose life under your rule. Forgive me for compromising your standards and replacing them with precepts fashioned by humanity. Open the eyes of my heart to see your power and majesty. Choose me and I will run passionately after you and share your goodness with others! Amen.
