Today’s guests are from Brazil. Juliano is a pastor in a Lutheran church in Pelotas. But he also is serving as the Executive Director of a mission movement in that area that provides support to clergy and helps expand the outreach of the church. Fabi serves as an English teacher but is very involved in the church and the movement that her husband directs. Isaac and Isabella are their two children. They have been given a four month sabbatical. They were involved for two months in at Faith Lutheran in Hutchinson, MN. Now they are living in Hudson, WI and are connected to Shepherd of the Valley. They will return to their home the day after Thanksgiving. One thing we are thankful for today is their willingness to admit their failures as followers of Jesus. We can all learn from their example how we can be honest with one another and tell the truth when we fall short. When we are weak Jesus is strong.
You saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as one carries a child, all the way that you traveled.
Deuteronomy 1:31
Then the disciples told what had happened on the road and how Jesus had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
Luke 24:35
Divine waymaker, thank you for going before me and carrying me in my travels. Forgive me when, like the travelers on the road to Emmaus, I'm blinded to your presence and plans. I ask for your care, protection, and provision. Help me see others I can carry on their journeys as your hands and feet in this world. Amen.
