We heard our Heavenly Father say to Abraham, “I am your shield.” We know that we need to claim that promise whenever we walk through difficult times. Today we hear a father tell his son to go see “if it is well with your brothers.” How do we hear our Heavenly Father provoke us to go see our brothers (and sisters) to see if it is well with them? Remember when you’re going to see your brother or sister, the Lord is your shield. Remember when you go, you may be going to those you know may have something against you ( Matt 5:24). And remember when you go, to see these people, you’re going in remembrance of Jesus.
Jacob said to Joseph, "Go now, see if it is well with your brothers and with the flock."
Genesis 37:14
Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24
Gentle Shepherd, you tend your flock with infinite love and care. Thank you for showing me the goodness and kindness you want to stir up in me. Forgive me for not seizing opportunities to serve others. Prompt me to share my faith, support, and encouragement. May I inspire those around me to love and good deeds. Amen.
