(Sundaycast) Abiding In The Love Our Shepherd’s Voice Creates (Hosea 6:4; John 15:9) (Shepherd’s Voice)

The prayer writers pictured above gathered at Mount Carmel for their annual time of encouragement, teaching and sharing as they practice the discipline of writing prayers for our book. Those pictured from left to right are Johan, Sonja, Leah, Zoe, Bill, Jayden, Diane, Rikka, Lu, Jill, and Gordon. Zoe and Jayden are part of the Awaken Project this year but we managed to get them to help us with the podcast so you will hear their voices with us today at the beginning and the end of the message. Today’s theme of “abide in my love” is expressed for us using the experience of listening to the voice of our Good Shepherd. Seven of the prayer writers shared what they wrote today in response to verses they are assigned for prayer writing for the 2027 book. As you hear these different voices of our Shepherd today, consider how you can write your own message from Jesus using His words of promise. If you need some guidance you can look at the back inside cover of the “Daily Texts” which has God’s voice from Ezekiel 36:24-28.

Old Testament Verse

Your love is like the dew that goes away early.
Hosea 6:4

New Testament Verse

Jesus said, "Abide in my love."
John 15:9

Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for being the sunrise and sunset of my day. Your love is constant, consistent, and connected. Forgive me when my confusions are like the dew that gets in your way. Only when in you I abide do I keep my stride. I ask you, Jesus, abide with me, and lead me today in your name. Amen.
