Jeff and Mim discuss the blessings they have experienced even in the midst of trials and hardships and grief. Not discussed in full, but worthy mentioning, is the Acts 3:8 text. As as lame man, he would have been excluded from full temple participation due to ritual impurity (cf Leviticus 21:17-23), but through the miracle of Jesus’ healing power the “lame leap like a deer” (Isaiah 35:6) in fulfillment to messianic restoration. The grace of Jesus Christ allows us to stand in the presence of God restored and forgiven. In Christ we have the hope of eternal life. This is the greatest of all blessings.
For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Psalm 92:4
Jumping up, he stood and began to walk, and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
Acts 3:8
Loving Lord, my heart leaps for joy. You bless me in so many ways. You are always with me and for me. Your Spirit helps me grow in strength, grace, truth and love. I see the works of your hands everywhere in the wonders of creation. May my joy lead to actions that bring praise and glory to you. Amen.
