(Familycast) Freed From Shame (Dan 9:7; Matthew 25:45) (Grace)
Shame-based people may frequently feel defensive when even minor criticism is given to them. Shame has a power over them. They often feel judged by others—frequently fearing that they will be thought of as incompetent, inadequate or worthless. They have an ongoing fear that they will be found to not measure up and will, therefore, eventually be rejected. Jesus knows these people need His voice to correct the voices that have surrounded these people in their lives. His voice is full of grace and truth. But it takes time to get free from the effect that shame has had on us. For starters, check out “Listening to the Shepherd’s voice” found on page 187 in your book.
