(Sundaycast) Jesus Lead Us On (Psalm105:3; Romans 15:3)

Count Zinzendorf is the man behind the “Daily Texts.” He let go of his right to royalty to become a servant to immigrants who were seeking refuge on his land near Dresden, Germany. One reason for letting go of his rights is that he was close to the One who gave up all His rights for the likes of a sinner like him. As a boy, Jesus became his friend. He wrote, “For many years I associated with him [Jesus] in a childlike manner [and] conversed with him as friends for hours.” Later he made his confession in the words above his image, “I have one passion: it is Jesus, Jesus only.” Take some time today to learn more about his amazing man and his leadership among these refugees which created a missionary movement that was the greatest outreach since the New Testament church. One of his strong views that shaped the Herrnhut community of refugees was, “There can be no Christianity without community.” When these believers took the gospel around the world they were shaped by this spirit of caring for one another in the joy of Jesus. There are many online stories about Zinzendorf. You can learn about his role in the formation of the “Daily Texts” by using this link, www.GroundUpGrace.com/dailytexts/moravian. May his story help you consider what you can relinquish for the Kingdom to come where you live.

Prayer

God of hope, there are times when I question my belief in you. But the faith you give is beyond belief. It is a lifeline from you. It's a gift that sets me free. Lord, when I look for you, please remind me that I am already found. Fill me with your peace. Let me share the joy. Amen.
