God? Father? Jesus made our understanding of God into a relationship. He calls God Father throughout his ministry. And Jesus teaches us to call God, our Father. St Paul helps us understand what it means to have God as our Father. It’s not some kind of special benefit that you would get if you were born into a royal family or a family of a billionaire. But it is a benefit that is out of this world. Think about this today as you worship your Father in church or in some other setting. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
For God has power to help or to overthrow.
2 Chronicles 25:8
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:29, 31
You have shown me, Father, the path of life, that is the way of death and resurrection. My natural fear of death keeps me from your divine way. You reveal your way of wisdom and truth through the life and death of your Son. Overcome my faithless fears now so I may die to myself again today. Amen.
