(Floridacast) Helping The Oppressed (Psalm 103:6; James 4:17)

This LENT we are providing a daily (Monday-Saturday) journaling opportunity. Journaling Day 28 April 7 1.How have you seen the evidence of our God working out justice for those who are oppressed? 2. In what ways have you been involved in working for justice for people who cannot help themselves? 3. When Jesus calls us the salt of the earth and the light of the world, how does that calling lead us to act on behalf of the poor and the downtrodden? Who are some Christians you look to for encouragement in helping the oppressed?

Old Testament Verse

The Lord works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed.
Psalm 103:6

New Testament Verse

Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it commits sin.
James 4:17

Prayer

Lord, your work to defend and bring justice is what I need. My disobedience collides with your perfect plan. I am sorry I miss the mark by attempting to justify myself. Send your Holy Spirit to deal with my resistant heart. Help me to stand up for the lost and rely on your power to bring redemption to the unrighteous. Amen.
