This LENT we are providing a daily (Monday-Saturday) journaling opportunity. Journaling Day 29 April 8 1. Because Jesus is praying for Simon Peter he is also praying for you. What does it mean to you to know that your Lord is praying for you in your times of trouble? 2. How does your Lord use your imperfections to accomplish his perfect will? 3. The prodigal son may have remembered this promise of God’s grace and mercy when he returned to his father. How was his surprise by his father like the one we receive when we return to our God?
The Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
2 Chronicles 30:9
Jesus said to Simon, "I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail, and you, when once you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."
Luke 22:32
Welcoming Father, thank you for your mercy as I return to you this day. I am weak and need the strengthening of faith from fellow believers. Thank you, Jesus, for praying for me and covering me in your selfless love. I will tell of your salvation to encourage others who are wavering in their faith. I remain as your child. Amen.
