When Job's three friends heard of all these troubles that had come upon him, they sat with him on the ground for seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.

Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Gracious and all merciful God, thank you for giving me Christian friends with whom I can share my burdens. Forgive me when I am too busy or preoccupied to notice when a friend is in need. Give me eyes to see and ears to listen when my presence is needed. Amen.
