(Mission Cast) Today Is Your Day (Isaiah 49:8; 2 Cor 6:2) (Salvation)

Jeff and Mim are joined by Claire and Justin from the Theta Community while conducting a camp in Anaheim, CA for children, who have recently arrived in the United States as Chinese immigrants. Together, in this cross-over cast, they discuss the meaning of the word salvation and the imminent nuance of the word today as “right now!’ The picture of Zacchaeus and Jesus (Luke 19:1-10) reminds us how God works his divine encounters. Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector and rich but desired to see and hear Jesus, who stopped to address him, “I must stay at your house today.” Zacchaeus received Jesus with joy. His transformation was so complete and remarkable that Jesus exclaimed, “Today salvation has come to his house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Dear listener, today is your day to welcome Jesus into your life. He wants to be your life.

Old Testament Verse

Thus said the Lord: In a time of favor I have answered you; on a day of salvation I have helped you.
Isaiah 49:8

New Testament Verse

I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV

Prayer

Beacon of light that guides me through life's wilderness, I am thankful for your unfailing favor. Forgive my moments of disbelief, when doubts obscure your promises like clouds covering the sun. Help me seize the opportunity of salvation like a parched land welcoming life-giving rain. May your grace lead me into the fullness of your favor. Amen.
