Jesus Declares You Are Not Alone (Isaiah 63:15; John 14:18) (Peace)

One of the men who was raised as an orphan was Immanuel Kant. He was a German philosopher in the 1700s. One of his lines that has always intrigued me is the one about the crooked wood that parallels our human character. The crooked tree is a reflection of this wood. But the other quote comes from St. Teresa of Avila. She was from Spain and lived during the 1500s dying in 1582. She wrote several books on the promise of our new life in Christ which is grounded in Jesus’ resurrection. In 1970 was she was acknowledged by Pope Paul VI as the first female Doctor of the Church. I encourage you to meditate on the drawing and the quotes. What do you see? You Kant miss it with the help of our Lord. (Romans 8:28 may give you a clue.)

Prayer

Heavenly and holy Father, you came down to rescue me. Though you are mighty and glorious, you come down to the lowly, even me. I don't need to achieve or measure up for you. Despite my sinfulness, you parent me and are present with me. Work in me however you choose. Use me to lift up others. Amen.
