Rest is God’s gift (1 Kings 8:56; Hebrews 4:9)
Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel according to all that he promised.
1 Kings 8:56
So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God.
Hebrews 4:9
Father, thank you for gifting me with refreshment through your sabbath. I regret that I often work to the bone to gain a blessing. Help me to surrender my control. Forgive my restless ways. Let me rest in the finished work of Jesus. Today I will lay myself down in your unconditional love. Amen.
