Our Father’s promise to be with us for better and for worse is expressed by His only Begotten Son in these words in Matthew 28. Jesus reveals what God our Father is really like. Our Father does not change the realities we have to face like disease, hardship, difficulties, rejection and finally death. But God our Father is with us in them. As this lesser known verse from the hymn “Children of the Heavenly Father” declares. We trust God’s presence in our pain. Our Father God does not forsake us. Our God goes through these times with us. And that is our blessing. “Emmanuel,” God with us now and to the close of the age. So have no fear little flock, in the Kingdom of God your Father is giving you, your King is with you.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
Numbers 6:24
And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:20
Blessed Lord God, how joyous and full of light is your love for all and even for me! Help me to see my trouble and failures today as passing clouds. Fill me to overflowing with the wonder of your eternal grace and goodness. May others be led to your fullness through my joy today. Amen.
