(Carmelcast) Graceful Limits (Gen 3:19; Gal 6:8)

The verses this week are showing us up for what we are without Christ. Old. Puffy. Fleshy. Not much to boast about. But our God loves to take what the world counts low and worthless and turn us into more than a human being…a human blessing. You may be all these things worthy of rejection but don’t count God out. He still gets the last word. “You are my beloved old, puffy, fleshy child. I have redeemed you. I call you by your name. You are mine.”

Old Testament Verse

God said to the serpent, "By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
Genesis 3:19

New Testament Verse

If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh, but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
Galatians 6:8

Prayer

Holy Spirit, strengthen me for the journey you've generously given me. It might be straight, or it might have lots of bends in the road. Let me not become weary in doing good. The harvest is promised. My eternal life will be glorious and perfect in your presence. Thank you for your grace that sustains me until that day. Amen.
