Pleasing God (2 Chronicles 19:7; Eph 5:10) (Justification)

Bribery! We do what we can to manipulate people if it can get us out of trouble. How often have you tried to buy your way out of a problem like breaking your mom’s vase and then bringing her flowers to get on her good side? This tactic does not work with God. But so often we try to figure out ways to get on God’s good side. Today’s texts and the podcast message challenge us to consider what is important to God. What is God looking for in our relationship that is not based on us trying to impress Him? We all know the answer. Faith. Hebrews 11:6 says clearly that it is faith. And we know that faith is a gift that God gives to us. Ephesians 2:8…”faith…is not your own doing it is a gift of God.” So how does this gift God has given free you to live a life pleasing to your Lord?

Creative and gracious giver of all, thank you for your generous provision of my time and talents. Guide and enable me to use both for your glory. I regret clinging tightly to these resources. Help me to open my hands and heart to serve you this day. May I be joyful in sharing what I have been given. Amen.
