Many years ago Sonja and I hiked around Mont Blanc with our friends. In this photo taken in the morning it could be called Mont Pink instead of Blanc (white). We were overwhelmed each day with the amazing vistas and beauty of the various landscapes and peaks that surround this white crown over all the other jagged peaks. As the reading from Amos declares, we were humbled by the majesty of these mountains but more by the almighty glory of the One who created them. For this One also created you. You are created in the image of God. What splendor! What majesty! What mystery God has hidden in you. For when heaven and earth pass away, you will remain with God. Hallelujah!
The one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, reveals his thoughts to mortals-the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!
Amos 4:13
Hallelujah! For the Lord God the Almighty reigns.
Revelation 19:6
From beginning to end is your glory, God. What a joy it is that you deign to speak even to mortals. Too often I turn in upon myself and close myself off to you. Open my eyes to see your beauty. Open my ears to hear your truth. Open my mouth to sing your praise. Hallelujah! Amen.
