Jeff and Mim discuss the bizarre story in Leviticus 10 of Aaron’s son’s deaths as the result of unauthorized access into the Tent of Meeting without following proper protocol according to God’s instructions. They then relate it to Jesus, the great High Priest (Hebrews 5 and 8) who is the minister of a new covenant that is established in his blood. Only through the blood of Jesus do Christians gain authorized access to the throne of God, because he is the only way, the truth, and the life. Jeff recounts his youth and alpine ski racing. All ski racers had to stay within the course and pass through the gates in sequential order otherwise they would be disqualified. Mim recounts a conversation with a friend who is grieving the loss of her husband, because medical personnel did not follow prescribed protocols that resulted in her husband’s unnecessary death. Whereas both of us like to innovate or do things our own ways, sometimes, the rules are just the rules, no exceptions. They were put in place to bless us and keep us safe. The two texts lead to deeper waters that we are not able to fully explore within the brief parameters of the podcast, but you can reflect further. At the end, we share an original song from a missionary to Uganda, as a surprise gift to our listeners. We hope you enjoy! Jeff & Mim

Leviticus 10:3
Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1
Holy and living God, how marvelous it is that your Son Jesus has made it possible to draw near to you and know you face-to-face! This is my security and peace, my true "holy of holies" as I enter your divine presence! Keep me from taking this privilege for granted. Use me to help someone experience your living presence. Amen.
