Jeff and Mim discuss the “bared arm of the Lord” (Isaiah 52:10), which is fulfilled in Jesus Christ on the cross, who breaks down the dividing walls of hostility and makes within himself one body, the Church, so that Jews and Gentiles are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of his household together. The Church, Christ’s Body is indivisible, but is hidden in this reality. The Invisible church spans the generations and includes people from every tribe, language, nation and tongue, who are united in Christ through one faith, one Lord, one Spirit, and one baptism. Jeff laments that there is so much division among the churches today; yet, he yearns for the day when the Body of Christ is made complete, bright and radiant on the day of Christ’s return.
The LORD has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Isaiah 52:10
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household.
Ephesians 2:19 NIV
Ruler of the universe, you oversee all. When I fall victim to earthly powers, my expectation is for you to wield your deadly sword. Thank you that I am wrong. Instead, you offer a hand of friendship to the stranger and citizenship to the foreigner. Your kingdom transforms this world. Today, guide me to someone who needs this Christlike friendship. Amen.
