Promise And Fulfillment (Jeremiah 23:5; Matthew 16:16) (Trust)

Today’s texts help us to remember that there is a gap between God’s promise and God’s provision. We all live in the tension of trusting a word from the Lord that we are waiting to see fulfilled. This is why we walk by faith and not by sight. We wait with hope for God to do what He has promised to do. All the life of a believer is caught somewhere between a promise given and waiting for what God will provide. We are called by God to live in a world that is filled with doubt and confusion with our light of hope in our God who is working in and through us. We trust the truth that we serve a Risen Lord who is able to work all things together for our good. And so we wait. And we encourage others like us who are waiting and watching for when and how God will provide.

Prayer

King Jesus, you are the Most High who rules in the kingdoms of humanity, even when evil agendas thrive and people possessed by power run rampant.
