Jesus calls us to come to Him to find our rest. But our Lord knows us too well. He has to come to us restless ones and rescue us from our obsessions. Then we receive His rest. This rest comes from knowing we are being carried by our Good Shepherd. When He carries us we are at rest. We are held. We are supported. We can’t do anything but let God be God and that is our true rest.
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
Isaiah 40:28
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:36
Creator of the world, I cannot begin to comprehend or measure your goodness and greatness. When I grow weary of life and my circumstances, you bring life and persistence. You hold me together and give me a purpose in my waiting, watching, and wandering. I trust you, Lord, and thank you for who you are. Amen.
