Jesus could have prayed this hymn verse that was written in the 19th Century by the German author Von Hausmann. He knew His absolute dependence on His Father. “The Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing,” He once said in John 5:19. Do we believe that our Father cares for us as He did for Jesus? Give God your Father the chance to lead you and to guide you. This morning commit some extended time with your Father. See what He reveals to you about your purpose for this day.

Prayer

God of the universe, all strength and power belong to you. You protect and provide. Forgive me for thinking I can do things on my own or believing my ideas and plans are best. Today I will joyfully relinquish myself into your hands, trusting in your strength alone. Help me stand firm in you. Amen.
