Jeff and Mim discuss what it means to be satisfied with God’s steadfast love each morning. This satisfaction is more than emotional happiness or consumerism. It is a deep, soul-satisfaction rooted in God’s divine grace and love. It is difficult to love another person if you do not first feel loved yourself by God. God’s love transforms our hearts so that we learn to love others, not through willpower or religious duty, but through the living water that flows from within your own life into others. You love with a pure heart, good conscience, and sincere faith that God created in you through his Holy Spirit. We cannot bear fruit in mission unless we learn first to abide in Christ’s love.
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14
The aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith.
1 Timothy 1:5
Holy Teacher, I rejoice in your steadfast love. My hope is found in you. Thank you for your loving lessons that teach me how in faith I can follow your calling. Forgive me when I wander and fail. Redirect me back to your teachings with a loving heart, pure conscience, and restored faith. This day is for you. Amen.
